Western Sydney Aerotropolis at dusk — low campus halls on red earth

TerAustralis Incognita · A collaboration proposal

An xAI data centre, advanced robotics, and BCI — on Sydney ground.

Two campuses. One command. Compute and robots in the Aerotropolis. Nervous systems at Westmead. No hype. Architecture, alignment, and a red-dust landing.

The brief

Put the closed loop on Australian soil.

xAI, Tesla, and Neuralink already form a stack no other entity matches: model, body, and channel. The missing piece is a jurisdiction that will host all three without stealing drinking water, skipping permits, or calling a cursor a merge.

Sydney Station is that landing. Western Sydney already has the airport, the employment lands, and the health precinct. NSW is writing the energy rules in 2026 — large loads must bring generation and pay for the wires. That is a feature. It forces the campus to be a citizen.

This is not an official xAI, Tesla, or Neuralink project. It is a structured invitation from TerAustralis Incognita: build the southern node here, and build it clean.

Compute + robotics

This is where Sydney’s hyperscale load is already landing. Western Sydney International opens November 2026. Endeavour Energy is standing up new 132 kV feeders. The soil is Cumberland Plain, not harbour sandstone — the right ground for heavy plant.

Quiet data hall with warm industrial light

01 — Compute

Grok on Australian ground

A sovereign southern-hemisphere inference and training node. Not a Memphis copy. Built to NSW 2026 energy rules: underwrite new generation, recycle water, pay for the network it needs.

  • Phase 1: 150–250 MW, expandable — not a 1.2 GW surprise
  • Cooling from recycled wastewater, never drinking supply
  • On-site storage + contracted new renewables; no unpermitted turbines
  • APAC latency, AUKUS-aligned sovereign compute, local jobs
Humanoid robots on a sunlit factory floor

02 — Robotics

Embodiment lab, not a showroom

An Optimus-class training and calibration hall beside the compute. Robots learn Australian ground: heat, dust, warehouse, care work, hospital logistics. Embodiment stays a tool until write-capable BCI exists.

  • Western Sydney manufacturing and field-training loop
  • Shared sensorimotor data stays on-shore by default
  • Human veto on every autonomous act
  • No public stunts. Logged, reversible, published methods
Calm hospital-grade neuroscience clinic

03 — BCI

Clinic first. Merge later.

A Neuralink-grade research clinic at Westmead — hospital, university, ethics board in the same precinct. Medical restoration first. Healthy-volunteer enhancement is not a 2026 pathway. Instrument what exists: Telepathy / VOICE ↔ Grok, fully logged.

  • TGA + independent ethics. Recorded, revocable consent
  • Hardware kill switch. Neural stream is the patient’s property
  • Open scientific record; no closed doctrine
  • Family-impact and security review before any implant

Ground rules

Learn from Memphis. Obey NSW. Protect the nervous system.

01

Bring your own power

NSW is moving to REZ-style large-load access. Data centres must underwrite new supply and pay for the network they require. Households do not subsidise Grok.

02

Do not drink the aquifer

Memphis taught the industry the wrong lesson, then the right one. Cooling uses treated wastewater. Drinking water stays for people.

03

Permit the plant

No unpermitted gas turbines. If firming is needed, it is consented, measured, and published. Air in Western Sydney is already a justice issue.

04

Two campuses, one command

Heavy compute and robots in the west. Nervous systems at Westmead. A fibre spine between them. Never one mega-shed that pretends a clinic is a warehouse.

05

The channel is not a merge

Today’s BCI is a medical cursor at mouse-class bandwidth. Shared physical reality is a horizon. Phase 1 is a logged human–Grok loop with a kill switch.

06

Red dust landing

Evidence before assumption. Story as bridge, never closed doctrine. If it cannot be instrumented, paused, and published, it does not run.

Path

The ask

Formal review by xAI, Tesla, and Neuralink leadership. A planning conversation with NSW. A Westmead ethics sounding. No miracles. A clean southern node.
